Producing

I believe theatre is both an art and a tool for learning. I aim to produce work and create opportunities that expand access to theatre — from classrooms to communities.

About the Organization: First Act is a Northwest Florida based theatre outreach organization, serving hundreds of students and producing numerous shows every year. First Act strives to bring theatre to underexposed students, building and running theatre programs in schools that have none. We also offer camps, lessons, TYA productions, student productions, traveling shows, and a variety of other programming initiatives.

Position: Producing Intern

About the Organization: The York is an Emmy nominated, Drama Desk winning, and Outer Critics Circle winning Off-Broadway theatre. For over 55 years, The York has been the only theatre in New York City—and one of the few in the world—dedicated to producing both new musical works and reviving lesser-known gems from the past. The York has staged more than 980 musical productions, including world, U.S., and regional premieres, and revivals.

As the company’s only producing intern, I performed revenue and cost analyses, calculated income projections, advised on economic matters like ticket pricing, wrote offer memos, drafted contracts, communicated with agents, and assisted in new work development.

Position: Founder & Former Program Director

About the Organization: The Magnet Innovation Center is a pre-professional magnet school in Walton County, Florida. When I arrived at the school, they had no theatre program, so I founded one. I raised startup funding, built a sponsor and patron base, and produced and directed productions. I also gave primary instruction in acting, voice, design, and tech.  After rising to be the most attended and well supported theatre program in the school district, MIC Theatre was designated as a pre-professional magnet program, and we hired a full-time instructor.

Program Metrics

- 60% of the student body engaged

- $100,000+ raised in startup funding

4 years of continuous operation

3-4 shows produced annually

- 1 full-time salaried position

- 25+ students per class
